Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-DEL-13297-R1C, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, to the project Applicant, David Melendrez, representing the California Department of Transportation. Caltrans proposes to replace four deteriorating culverts on US 199 in Del Norte County from PM 1.11 to 1.72, and improve fish passage through the Clarks Creek culvert at PM 2.56. Culvert replacement strategies include cut and cover method, trenchless methods (i.e., jack and bore), and correcting deficient inlet and/or outlet conditions. The proposed improvements at Clarks Creek would modify the existing baffle design and construct a downstream fishway to improve juvenile fish passage.
