Document Description
The project consists of repaving existing asphalt roads, parking lots and campsite parking spurs in the Green Valley Campground of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. The asphalt is old and failing in many places. The project includes grinding approximately 250,000 sq. ft. feet of existing asphalt. The grinding will remove 2" to 4" of asphalt. Ground disturbance below the asphalt will not exceed 1" in depth. The ground asphalt will be fine graded, compacted, and reused as a sub-base for the new asphalt. In addition new asphalt will be added to the road based parking area by the green valley shop. This work will consist of fine grading the existing base to no more than 4" deep in the parking area; installing additional ¾" minus base rock or asphalt grindings if needed, compacting, and installing new 3" asphalt paving. Any tree roots encountered will be left in place if bigger than 2 inches and in any tree drip line. No rock walls or rock culverts will be impacted during this project.
