The purpose of this project is to restore the function of the road way to pre-slide conditions, and to reduce the amount of debris entering the traveled way. The need is to prevent another long term Closure of 100 roadway and to increase the safety for the traveling public and Caltrans maintenance crews by widening the existing shoulder.
