SJFD staff will remove and replace a 250-foot section of buried 4-inch waterline due to a break in the line. Pipe replacement will include mobilization of a backhoe to dig a 2' wide by 3' deep trench. The new section of pipe will be fused to the existing pipe, then reburied. Trenching will be within an existing dirt access road. The line supplies water to the fire suppression system at the Buena Vista Pumping Plant, which is integral to the function of the California Aqueduct.
