Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
15311
Reasons for Exemption
This project will involve the installation of five electric vehicle chargers and the construction of an AC paved area for electric buses, a shade canopy for the buses, bus wash area, parking, and a modular office to house the chargers at an elementary school campus in Oroville, CA. The site where the shade structure for the chargers will be constructed is currently an undeveloped portion of the Plumas Avenue Elementary School. The chargers will be used to charge new electric school buses that will replace existing diesel buses. This project therefore consists of the construction or replacement of a minor structure appurtenant to existing facilities. This project therefore falls under categorical exemption listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15311. Further, none of the exceptions listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply to this project.
