To authorize an existing 5-feet wide by 3-feet deep fish passage flume under the Central California Traction Railroad (CCTR) crossing; and to retrofit the CCTR crossing concrete bridge foundation to provide an improved salmon and steel head passage including new 4-feet wide by 6-feet deep flume and rock weirs.
The project is located where the Central California Traction Railroad crosses the Stockton Diverting Canal, approximately 0.2 miles upstream of the North Wilson Way bridge.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1, Existing Facilities categorical exemption (CEQA Guidelines § 15301) because the existing fish passage flume is being authorized, and under the Class 3, New Construction categorical exemption (CEQA Guidelines§ 15303) to construct a new fish passage flume and rock weirs. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA Guidelines§ 15300.2 apply.
