The tide gate structure runs through a 12-foot wide agricultural dike and drains diked agricultural lands into the Mad River Slough. Work for this encroachment will include excavation, removal of the failing culvert section, replacement with a new properly sized culvert, back-filling and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion.
