Document Description
This proposed project will be administered through various community colleges automotive programs by providing funding for alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technology (clean energy) training. Under Senate Bill 110 (Chapter 55, Statutes of 2017), the Energy Commission is awarding approximately 200 electric school buses to school districts, county offices of education, and joint powers authorities around the State. To support the awardees in the transition to electric buses, the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program is funding workforce training for bus operators and maintenance technicians. Training will consist of: train-the-trainer support, curriculum development and updates, and specialized equipment purchases specific for the training of electric school bus staff.
