Document Description
The Redway Community Services District (CSD or District) is pursuing grant funding for the planning and design of improvements to the District's wastewater system infrastructure. The wastewater system was built prior to 1950 and many components are susceptible to failure and labor intensive to maintain. The District operates about 30 miles of collection system mains and a wastewater treatment facility that treats domestic and commercial wastewater for about 750 connections.

The proposed planning studies (alternatives analysis, engineering report, plans and specifications, and background studies) for the Wastewater Infrastructure\ Improvement Project is categorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15306, Class 6, which "consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. These may be strictly for information gathering purposes, or as part of a study leading to an action which a public agency has not yet approved, adopted, or funded." The project is a planning study and has not yet been approved, adopted, or funded.
