Synchronization of the traffic signals will provide for a smoother flow of traffic on Main Street, the most heavily traveled corridor in the City of Hesperia. Smoother traffic flow will benefit the residents, commuters and the region, by less stressful driving, along with better air quality from fewer vehicles sitting and idling.

Reasons for Exemption
The synchronization project will be installing new adaptive traffic control systems into existing equipment cabinets, replacing outdated cabinets, replacing signal wiring in existing poles, in-ground, and in other miscellaneous existing equipment. All new equipment is located on the same sites and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as those replaced.
