Document Description
Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the request for extension to the Cachagua Creek Fish Passage Restoration Project, submitted by the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County. To allow for steelhead trout fish passage on Cachagua Creek, an existing automobile ford structure will be removed and replaced with a vented ford at the existing location. The vented ford will consist of three pre fabricated concrete box culverts, each having a span of 24 feet long by 12 feet high, while also providing a 20 foot wide roadway. The approval extends the previously-extended approval period, to include a five-year term beginning August 15, 2021, during which a single construction period of August 15 to October 15 will occur, with revegetation occurring from November 1 to January 30, beginning the same year of construction. Post construction revegetation monitoring will occur until June 1 for three years, to document revegetation efforts and determine attainment of performance standards.
