Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Permittee) proposes the following: Access and staging routes will be established first, followed by the installation of stream diversion and dewatering, as necessary. Temporary jacking and receiving pits will be excavated, new culverts will be installed via jacking. Upon completion of the replacement culvert jacking, the inlet and outlet headwalls that include cable railings and concrete gutters to drain water around the walls will be constructed. The existing culverts will be abandoned in place or removed as feasible. The temporary work area will be regraded to match streambed contours entering and leaving the site. Rock slope protection (RSP) will be placed at culvert inlets and outlets. The RSP fields will incorporate willow plantings. All RSP will be underlain with a 15-inch-thick gravel filter layer, no filter fabric will be utilized. Disturbed streambed and banks and access routes will be restored and replanted with native vegetation.
