Document Description
The City, along with Reclamation and the Sacramento Water Forum would borrow gravel material from Sailor and Mississippi Bars, and place up to 30,000 tons of gravel per year at up to three sites within the American River channel within 10 broadly defined areas between RM 23 and RM 13. The project also includes floodplain and side channel creation/enhancement, and instream habitat structure placement. The project is a continuation of restoration initiated in 2008 and would be implemented between 2019 and 2034, pursuant to available funding, to comply with the Central Valley Project Improvement Act and related Biological Opinions. Biological and physical monitoring are key components of the project.
