Approval of Permit No. 19445-3, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To implement the Lower American River (LAR) Anadromous Fish Habitat Restoration Project (Project). The Project components covered by this permit consists of excavating and grading of up to 21,117 Cubic Yards (CY) of material to create approximately 2,500 feet long side channel. In addition, approximately 37,619 CY of material would be placed in the channel to create spawning riffles. The complete implementation of the proposed work would require removing approximately 24,695 CY of material and placing approximately 37,624 CY of material. Additional improvements include creation of boat notches on each spawning riffle; placement of approximately 64 large woody habitat structures; and planting of shaded riverine aquatic vegetation in approximately 1.95 acres in the LAR.
