Document Description
The Project proposes maintenance dredging from October 1 through November 30 in the Marina and associated Whispering Bay and Marina Village Residential District Area access channels, last dredged in 2008. The total volume of material to be removed during this dredge window is estimated at 53,000 cubic yards and would take approximately 30 to 60 days to complete. Dredged sediment would be placed at Pierce Island, which has been permitted as a long-term dredged material disposal site since 1990 (USACE Permit# 16329E58; BCDC Permit# M85-87, and RWQCB Order No. 90-071). Dredging would assure safe navigable depths for vessels that currently use this facility. The State Lands Commission action is an approval of a 10-year General Lease – Dredging Lease through February 3, 2029.
