Document Description
The project consists of a feasibility study to investigate the possibility of consolidating two small rural water systems. Colusa County Service Area #2, Stonyford (CSA #2) and Colusa County Service Area #1, Century Ranch (CSA #1) have operational deficiencies. CSA #2 secondary well is currently non-operational and the system has low treatment capacity. CSA #1 has water supply issues during the summer months, which are exacerbated during drought conditions (water was required to be trucked in 2015). Water distribution is also a concern at CSA #1 due to the use of an emergency above ground distribution line across Little Stony Creek. The study would investigate the technical and financial feasibility of improvements to CSA #2 including the rehabilitation of the secondary well and increased treatment capacity. The study would also investigate the technical and financial feasibility of replacing the emergency distribution connection at CSA #1 and constructing 3 to 4 miles of pipeline to connect to the two water systems.
