Document Description
The WWTP lacks the ability to screen influent, actively treat BOD, or control solids deposition. Also, the facility lacks adequate capacity in the chlorine contact channel to provide contact time at higher flows. Other deficiencies include a lack of a comprehensive SCADA system, lack of a backup generator, insufficient effluent pump capacity, and potentially inadequate or damaged impermeable liners of Ponds l through 4. The purpose of this project is to address the items discussed above. Major improvements will include construction of a headworks, pond repair, installation of additional aeration capability, renovation of flow patterns, expansion of the disinfection system, and installation of additional monitoring and control systems. All work will be completed at an existing facility. The improvements are needed to ensure ongoing protection of the environment from the impacts of raw sewage. The project will serve to prevent the release of pollution into the environment.
