California Conservation Corps - Fortuna Center, Backcountry Trails Program
The purpose of this project is to restore watershed health and improve access and trail safety. This project will repair and/or reconstruct 6 miles of trail. Project activities include reconstruction of approximately 2,000 LF of retaining walls; reconstruction/repair of approximately 10,000 LF of trail tread; construction of 1,200 LF of trail for reroute to reduce grades; construction of approximately 100 erosion-controlling trail structures.
Project consists of the repair and minor alteration of existing public trails and does not involve any expansion beyond current use. Minor alterations to the condition of vegetation for the purposes of erosion control does not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
