Document Description
The project consists of the rehabilitation of an existing aqueduct appurtenant structure. The tower is a 61-foot-tall 74-inch diameter vent surrounded by a 67-foot-tall 122-inch diameter containment pipe; both constructed of cement
mortar lined and coated welded steel. A condition assessment revealed delaminated and spalled cement mortar coating on the steel vent and coating debris at the bottom of the containment pipe. This project is to remove the remaining delaminated cement mortar coating from the vent during an aqueduct shutdown to prevent the coating debris from damaging downstream aqueduct facilities.
