Document Description
The purpose of this project is to restore watershed health and maintain public access to the John Muir Wilderness and Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. The McGee Pass Trail is currently in hazardous condition with sediment and erosion issues. This project will repair sections of McGee Pass Trail. Nine miles of wilderness trail will receive treatment. Work will include removal of hazardous trees and debris impeding public use; reconstruction of washed out sections of trail; reconstruction of switchbacks; construction of check dams, trail dips, armored water crossings; construction of footbridge; rehabilitation of social trails.
