Document Description
The Modified Project consists of minor changes to the CDR/SR 218 segment of the Original Project analyzed in the certified Final EIR and approved by TAMC on March 25, 2020. The Modified Project would be located within environmental study area analyzed in the certified Final EIR for the Original Project, but with portions of the alignment that would extend outside the original footprint by a few feet. As described in the EIR, the FORTAG Trail is mostly on the inland side of SR 1 and involved the phased construction of a multi-use trail in northwestern Monterey County, generally within the jurisdictions of the cities of Del Rey Oaks, Seaside, and Marina and the CSUMB campus. No changes to other Trail segments would occur as part of the Modified Project. Minor changes to the CDR/SR 218 segment alignment are as follows: ? The portion of the Trail adjacent to the tennis courts in Work Memorial Park would be moved from the southwest side of the tennis courts to the area north of the maintenance walkway, as illustrated in Figure 2. It would be situated in the elevated, vegetated area supported by the existing retaining wall, which would be kept in place or replaced with a similar structure. See the inset photographs in Figure 2, particularly the one labelled “east site looking west.” ? The Trail would be routed in a slightly different location along Carlton Drive at the intersections with Work Avenue and Quendale Avenue, where the new alignment would close the right turns. ? Crossing locations would be added at Plumas Avenue at its intersections with Waring Street and Noche Buena Street to improve Trail access. Curb ramps would be modified to meet current ADA requirements
