Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0041-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the City of Pasadena Public Works Department. The project is limited to the installation of a new system to manage low and high flows in the Berkshire Creek Drainage. The project will install a dry well that will capture and infiltrate the first flush of rain water, and a low and high flow inlet that will convey storm flows. A box culvert will be installed to direct the high flows 110 linear feet downstream. At the box culvert outlet, an energy dissipating apron consisting of embedded ungrouted boulders will be installed. Concrete grade control structures will be keyed into the box culvert to control the water speed downstream of low flow outlet. Upon completion of structure installations, the banks will be recontoured and revegetated with native species. The project will also install a free spanning bridge to serve pedestrian and equestrian traffic.
