Document Description
The project would develop Phase 4 of the Truckee River Legacy Trail from Palisades Drive/Brockway Road to the SR89/West River Street intersection along the south side of the Truckee River. When completed, the project would feature approximately 1.9 miles of Class 1 (paved) bikeway and multi-use trail between the Truckee River Regional Park (Brockway Road and Palisades Drive intersection) and SR 89 South (by West River Street). This section of the Truckee River Legacy Trail would cross both public and private property and would include an approximately 400-foot bridge across the Truckee River. The project also includes a trailhead parking lot, public restroom, and a kiosk on West River Street near the intersection of Highway 89 South. A public river access area will be improved just east of the Donner Creek Bridge on West River Street. Drainage crossings would have open bottom culverts, bridges, or similar structures to avoid impacts to the streams and river channels. Soft surface trails are also included in the project to connect the Legacy Trail to existing soft surface trail systems in adjacent neighborhoods.
