Document Description
Investigation and assessment work to locate, excavate, and assess the condition of C.H. Olsson 805 Well, located in Summerland Oil Field, Santa Barbara County. The Olsson well dates back to the largely unregulated Summerland Oil Field development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and has been known to periodically leak crude oil into the nearby beach and surf area. The investigation and assessment is an essential first step in the efforts for planning and designing future re-abandonment work ori the well to prevent oil leakage.
