Document Description
Title Cont.: and San Diego Counties Authorize approval for the University of California Santa Barbara to study the decline of foundation species in the rocky intertidal zone and plan to conduct rockweed restoration at 34 sites along the California coast. The study involves removing rockweed plants affixed to small quarter-sized rock chips and placing the rock pieces to recipient sites. Less than 100 samples will be removed from the donor sites. Approximately 15 small tiles (0.0025 m2) will be attached to rocks using small bolts and later collected and examined for recruitment of rockweed and other species.
