NOE - Notice of Exemption
CalFire proposes to acquire an estimated thirty acres of privately owned agricultural land in Parkfield California to be used for the relocation and replacement of the existing Parkfield Unit Fire Station. The parcel is outside of the flood zone, is relatively flat with a few trees, and contains vegetation consisting of annual grasses. Future development of the property will undergo a separate environmental compliance review once the entirety of the project is known.
The acquisition activity by itself is covered by the general rule that CEQA
applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment; where it can be seen that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environmental, the activity is not subject to CEQA". Transfer of property ownership does not have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment.
