Document Description
The proposed work will include approximately 55 geotechnical borings located in the footprint of the Sacramento Weir Expansion, occurring between May and July 2019. The work will verify site conditions and allow for proper design. Borings will be approximately 4-6 inches in diameter and be drilled to a depth of approximately 50 to 100 feet. Prior to drilling, surface vegetation within 12 inches of the immediate bore hole location will be cleared. Woody vegetation , such as trees and shrubs, would not be impacted as part of the proposed work.

The project consists of subsurface data collection and visual observations and will not result in any significant impacts to environmental resources. Following the completion of each boring, the hole would be back filled with cement-bentonite grout. Drilling fluid and cuttings would be disposed of at an off site location. The data obtained from this project will be used to support project planning and engineering design.
