Document Description
The Cal Water-DOM proposes to construct a new water supply well in the Central Coast Basin within an industrial area in the City of Compton, including development of a treatment plant for treatment of the resulting water as needed. The Proposed Project will include drilling, construction and testing of new well DOM 300-01, to be completed in two phases. The proposed well will be drilled and constructed to an approximate depth of 800 feet below ground surface with an estimated capacity of 1,500-2,000 gallons per minute (gpm). A catch basin and connection to an existing storm drain will be constructed and used to discharge the water generated during the well development process. Prior to drilling, a temporary noise wall will be erected along the eastern property border to shield Fire Station No. 4 from construction noise. A slump stone building will be constructed to house the electrical and treatment facilities if needed, and will contain aeration equipment, ion exchange vessels, booster pumps, and chemical injection facilities. Fencing, a security system, paving, and landscaping will be included in site development.
