Document Description
The project involves (1) reconstruction of the existing Annex with an approximately 525,000-square-foot building, (2) construction of a new underground parking garage under the 12th Street walkway to the east of the Annex, and (3) construction of a new underground visitor/welcome center on the west side of the Historic Capitol. Only project component (1) is approved as part of this NOD. The project would address deficiencies in the former Annex building, including: life safety/building code deficiencies, non-compliance with ADA standards, overcrowding, aging and failing infrastructure, and insufficient public and working space.
