Document Description
The project consists of two major components, the battery energy storage system (BESS) and upgrades to the existing PG&E Bridgeville substation. The BESS portion of the project would consist of 20 containers, each containing batteries capable of 2 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy storage; the Project would thus provide 40 MWh of energy storage. The Project would support the California Independent System Operator grid by providing a standalone battery system that would provide energy and ancillary services for up to at least 4 hours. The Project includes upgrades to the existing PG&E Bridgeville 11 5kV Substation to accommodate interconnection of the BESS to the grid including an expansion area, pad, fence, building expansion, infrastructure, and overhead lines
