Document Description
Bass Lake Water Company proposes to install a circular 400,000-gallon above ground storage tank over some of the demolished footprint of their old square 425,000-gallon partially below ground reservoir. The new tank footprint will extend less than 2,500-square feet beyond the old reservoir footprint. The old 425,000-gallon reservoir roof failed with recent winter storms, causing the need to install a replacement tank. Five hundred thirty feet of piping .less than 10-inches in width , will be installed to connect the new tank to the old system . The Project will provide and help maintain drinking water and fire services at previous levels.

Reasons for Exemption
The replacement of the 425,000-gallon partially below ground tank with a 400,000-gallon above ground tank is Class 2 exemption, replacement of exiting utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity, (15302 (c)). The new footprint area of the tank and pad, as a result of the shape of the tank, falls under a Class 3 exemption as it is small new construction less than 2,500 square feet, The water mains fall under Class 3 construction 1 water mains of reasonable length to serve such construction, (<16 inches in diameter, <1 mile in length).
