Document Description
The proposed project is located along La Jolla Shores Drive in the northern portion of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) campus. The project is a slope reconstruction and re-vegetation project for a slope failure that occurred due to an irrigation leak that undermined the stability of the slope. The slope is situated between the Keck Center Building and La Jolla Shores Drive with vegetation to the south and the Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) to the north. Scope of work would include installation of temporary orange construction fencing at the top of slope and around the construction work area. Two temporary signs would be installed at the top of slope indicating slope restoration work in progress. Reconstruction of the slope would include grading and excavation of unsuitable material and infill of suitable material with compacted engineered fill. Once the slope is reconstruction, temporary irrigation and re-vegetation would be installed to stabilize the slope. The project would restore and enhance the habitat area of the project site by re-vegetating the disturbed area with native plant species.
