Document Description
Replace the roofs on the Crocker Dining Hall complex at Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds to preserve and protect the facilities. Work will:
On Crocker Dining Hall:
- remove existing deteriorated roofing materials;
- install copper vents, flashing, and downspouts;
- install new composite shingle roofing on the gable, dormer and cupola roofs; and
- treat wood gutters with liquid marine epoxy if needed .
On Seascape and Woodlands dining rooms, kitchen and connecting corridors:
- remove existing deteriorated roofing materials;
- replace composition shingle roofing;
- replace wood shingles as needed to install new metal flashing;
- reseal skylights with new metal framing and silicone sealant; and
- replace stainless steel sump drains and vents.

Project consists of replacement of existing structures or facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced , included as "Reroofing1 ' in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR§ 15300.4; and the rehabilitation and preservation of historical resources in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving 1 Rehabilitating, Restoring, and Reconstructing Historic Buildings (1995), Weeks and Grimmer.
