Document Description
Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency, a joint power authority operating school buses for numerous California Public school districts, will upgrade an existing compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling site. The upgraded station will allow the joint power authority the ability to fuel recently awarded CNG school buses, allow the district to expand its CNG school bus fleet, and give other districts and outside public agencies operating CNG vehicles the opportunity to fuel at this station.

Reasons for Exemption
This project will upgrade existing natural gas fueling infrastructure at a fueling site owned by a joint power authority that operates a home-to-school transportation program. The project site is outdoors on developed (concrete) land. Six slow fill dispensers and a card lock system will be added to the existing station and there will be approximately 50 feet of trenching to add the compressed natural gas line to the existing slow fill station. The estimated maximum footprint of the added infrastructure is approximately 150 square feet. The project is not located at a hazardous waste site, is not located near any scenic highways, will not cause a change to a historical resource, will not generate noise or odors in excess of permitted levels and will not involve the removal of any trees or vegetation.
