Document Description
This Earth Day project will consolidate and improve existing trash and recycle bin locations in the Islay Campground at Montana de Oro State Park to limit damage caused by heavy trash collection trucks. Work will: • Remove four (4) existing dumpsters from various locations within the campground and rehabilitate (as needed) the former trash sites; • In one ( 1) new area trash area and three (3) existing trash areas, excavate to a depth of up to 12" to remove a total of approximately 1,100 feet2 of soil; • Use dump trucks to import up to 41 yards3 of road base and place the road base in the four (4) proposed trash collection areas; and • Plant native vegetation as screening around the new trash collection areas.

This project consists of the operation, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; minor public alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry and agricultural purposes.
