Document Description
The purpose of this project is to-increase storage capacity, prevent queuing onto mainline, improve public safety, and improve traffic flow on the southbound (SB) off-ramp to South St. This area currently has operational and queuing issues; nonstandard deceleration distance for the off-ramp; and higher than statewide average accident rates due to current design. The proposed project will widen the off-ramp by adding a lane at the intersection, and realign the lanes so that one lane opens to dual left tum lanes and the other lane opens to dual right turn lanes. The existing traffic signal will be replaced, and the existing interconnect system will be maintained. A new retaining wall will be constructed along the off-ramp.
