Document Description
The Proposed Program includes the establishment and Implementation of the Capital Improvement Program to repair, renovate, and revitalize District schools and the preparation of the San Diego Unified School District CEQA Handbook. The implementation of the Capital Improvement Program consists of improvements identified in the 2008 Long Range Facilities Master Plan, Propositions Sand Z, and Measure YY, as well as other potential projects not identified within existing documents or specific bond measures, and is broadly defined in four project categories including New Acquisition and New School or Administrative Facilities, Whole Site Modernization, Upgrades of Existing School and Administrative Sites, Joint Use Facilities Development. The District's CEOA Handbook has been prepared with the intent of assisting the District's Facilities Planning and Construction Division staff, their construction contractors, and other parties working with the District during Implementation of the Capital Improvement Program to streamline CEOA review of future projects by establishing a uniform, consistent approach for the District's environmental review process, including the adoption of a consistent set of screening criteria and mitigation measures that can be applied across all District projects.
