- The project involves a comprehensive renovation to extend the building's useful lifespan. Upgrades would be made to fire/life safety, accessibility, repairs to historic elements that are deteriorating or causing deterioration; hazardous materials removal; replacement of the plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems; replacement of electrical, telecom, and security systems; landscaping; and renovation of the elevators. The project would include restoration of historic elements as feasible and provide a new office layout for existing tenants. The project seeks to be designed in such a way as to achieve Zero Net Energy and LEED Silver certification. DGS is taking no action on the Capitol fountain.
