Provide a Cleanup Day in the area known as Slab City in Imperial County. Participants will collect and take their solid waste materials to designated dropoff locations. The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) contractors will collect and segregate materials, and dispose or recycle the materials. Coordination meetings will be held and educational outreach materials provided.

See NOE for full detail. The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery approved the remediation project on March 25, 2019, under the authority of Public Resources Code (PRC) §42847 et seq. The project will prevent pollution of the environment and the potential release of hazardous materials by assisting in the removal of solid waste and incidental household hazardous waste, and preventing the materials from being illegally dumped.
