San Francisco State University is proceeding with minor interior alterations to existing space on the first and second floors of the City Eats Residential Dining Center. The purpose of the Project is to renovate 16,479 ASF, that will correct deficiencies and enhance the dining experience far students through remodeling a portion of the existing dining room to relocate the dish room and install underfloor utilities for the servery area. The Project will advance the educational mission of the California State University in general and benefit the San Francisco campus in particular.

Reasons for Exemption
It has been determined that the Project is Categorically Exempt under Title 14, CCR 15301, Class 1: Existing Facilities. Because tenant improvements to the existing campus dining center will cause negligible or no expansion of an existing use, the Project is exempt. Importantly, the Project is not foreclosed by an enumerated exception on the use of a Categorical Exemption. See generally 14 Cal Code Regs. Section 15300.2. Specifically, the Project will not be located in a particularly sensitive environment; will not have a significant cumulative impact. See NOE for full details.
