Document Description
The project proposal calls for the construction of a 6 feet wide vegetated swale that is approximately 2,100 LF on the West side of Las Virgenes Road. The swale will serve as a pretreatment BMP that will capture and treat surface flows from the street. The swale will also slow flow velocities down and allow for gradual infiltration through the soil media. The overflow of treated flows will be discharged into the detention basin by Mont Calabasas Rd. In addition about 160 native trees will be placed along the road and inside the swale to improve air quality and decrease the heat island effect. The project includes a multipurpose trail as a safe path for pedestrians and bikers. The street terminus will change to cul-de-sac.
