Document Description
The project proposes to remove the existing median and construct bio-filtration medians with impermeable liner and an underdrain along the road. The medians will serve as a pretreatment BMP that will capture and treat surface flows. Treated flows will be discharged into downstream catch basins. The project's purpose is to collect rainfall through the permeable surface of the medians~ which will be used to water the native trees directly within the medians to help reduce the dependency on recycled water use, and collect the surface water runoff through an inlet. The collected water will be filtered through the bio-filtration soil, removing urban runoff pollutants such as sediments, bacteria, metals, and trash, and improve the quality of the water entering the storm drain system. The existing sidewalk will be replaced with a permeable surface.
