In Shasta County on SR 299 PM 32.6 a slide occurred in a cut bank that supports a 1611 water distribution line above the highway. The water line has a high risk of catastrophic failure with continued movement of slide. Caltrans proposes to excavate unstable soil and stabilize water line based on water district's recommendations.
