Special Repair and Deferred Maintenance (SR/OM) projects will be conducted at various California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) prison facilities statewide as shown on the attached list. Projects involve a wide ,array of repairs; some examples are replacement of water treatment plant filter/controls, install a double walled brine tank, chiller" replacement, replace wastewater grinder screen augers/controls, ADA modifications, and multiple water intrusion repair projects.

This exemption allows for the operation, repair maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing or minor alteration of existing public structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment to meet current standards of public health and safety, that involve negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. These projects consist of minor alterations to existing structures and equipment and involve no expansion of use. This is one of a class of projects that the Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant effect on the environment, and -therefore is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
