Document Description
A rockslide occurred on March 6, 2019 causing the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes on State Route 41 in Madera County. State Forces worked to dear the roadway but had concerns about additional rock fall. The State Geologist was called out and arrived on March 7, 2019 to assess the area, A second Geologist arrived on March 8 2019 and directed additional rock scaling to be performed prior to roadway reopening. The equipment needed to perform the seating was not available to State Forces and a contractor was hired to perform the rock scaling.
