Document Description
The grant funds the OHV Avalanche Advisory, Awareness, and Education Project, an education project for snow machine users. The Project provides information and educational opportunities to empower snow machine users to better manage risk in avalanche terrain. Proposed Project elements include daily avalanche advisory, snowmobile patrol, Know Before You Go (KBYG) avalanche awareness program, snowmobile avalanche awareness field courses, AIARE Avalanche Level 1 certification courses, interpretive signage and beacon checkers at popular trail-heads, and outreach (e.g., public service announcements, social media campaigns, and distribution of messaging materials to regional shops and riding clubs).
