Document Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) as lead agency has prepared, considered, and approved the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Mental Health Crisis Facility (MHCF) Project at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJDCF), located in San Diego, California. The MHCF would be constructed within the current property boundaries of RJDCF in the western portion of the existing prison grounds (West Site Option). Inmate-patients are typically transferred to a MHCF on a limited-term basis (approximately ten days); when stabilized, the inmates are transferred to correctional facilities that provide the required housing and on-going mental health treatment.
