Document Description
Delta Field Division slaff will repair erosion damage at 18 locations along the CAAQ. Erosion sites range in size from small rills, undermined guard rails and areas of subsidence. The erosion sites are located on either the primary or secondary side of the aqueduct (primary is on the left facing downstream). Fill material will be brought from the Corral Hollow borrow site and placed at the nearest Check structure along the CAAQ, The erosion sites will be repaired as follows: Vegetation found within the eroded area will be removed. A backhoe will be used to collapse and remove all loose dirt within the eroded area. The area will then be compacted firm. Fill dirt will be placed and compacted in a series of soil lifts to reshape the eroded area. Compaction with a sheepsfoot roller will occur until the original slope Is attained. Aggregate base (AB) will be re-applied to areas that previously had AB and tamped down using a backhoe bucket. The repair sites are all within DWR right-of-way and all equipment will be staged at the nearest Check structure.
