Document Description
This project will enhance pedestrian facilities within Ramsay Park and connections to existing trails and commuter routes.: Approximately 0.4 miles of trails and sidewalks along with 0. 6 miles of Class IV bike lanes will be created in the park to allow the community safe and dedicated passageways for walking and bicycling instead of using roads and parking; lots shared with cars. Other major elements of the project include: planting trees, installing rain gardens, landscaping, native habitat landscaping, removing invasive plants and other green infrastructure including interpretive aids to highlight alternative transportation and natural systems.

This project is eligible for a Class 1 & 4 Categorical Exemption per Sec. 15301 and 15304 of the CEQA Guidelines as it involves the minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination and consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy; mature, and scenic trees. The project will also entail removal of invasive plants within the park to enhance habitat to be done in conjunction with native habitat landscaping within previously disturbed areas of the park This work is exempt under class 33, Section 15333 for small habitat restoration projects.
