Document Description
A depression in the rock backfill behind the left downstream training wall of Rock Creek Dam, initially detected in the early 2000's, and a void under the L-shaped training wall, discovered during subsequent dive inspections, indicates that the backfill could be migrating into the plunge pool below. Dive inspections indicate that the training wall foundation has experienced some undermining and if not mitigated, could progress thereby inducing a dam safety risk. PG&E proposes to repair toe voids at Rock Creek Dam's left abutment and downstream training wall. The project objectives are to fill the depression in the rock backfill, fill voids in the left training wall, restore foundation contact for left abutment training wall, repair voids in concrete flip bucket wall and armor the foundation materials against further degradation.
